Five south of the equator
The current Visit Indonesia campaign is dull, uninspiring, and full of potentially awkward and troublesome sentences (“Your coming is our happiness” heh heh get it). If my passport country wants to bring in tourists, what we need to exploit is our exceptional sense of humour, like this blip I found in a glossy brochure by the Kepri tourism board:
The Phallus and Pupendum Stone (stone resembles men and women genital parts) was a part of Karimun folk talkes. The story is about King of Riau-Langga who caught his Queen committing adultery with His Commander on their Ship. He became furious and detached their genital parts with his supernatural power kick.
NOW it’s time to visit Indonesia! Don’t forget to pack sunblock and a protective cup.
